Darren Hayes, Noel Fielding and a Bacon Buttie

Wow!! What a weekend it has been!
At last the holidays have arrived and after a stressful final week at school with organising the School Talent Night and a charity event it has been a very very tiring week. But light has shawn onto my head and brought me some happiness.
The sun has risen and I have been up for an hour getting ready to queue for what was 7 hours to meet Noel Fielding! Outside Urban Outfitters for 7 hours chomping on a Starbucks bacon buttie and a hot chocolate. What a morning. Afternoon hit and still no Noel...such a diva really having to wait that long is ridiculous! Anyways, he finally arrived and started to paint the window, to be fair it was pretty impressive and then came the book signing and again being made to line up with screaming girls pushing to get closer to the front, not impressed. Finally, got to the top of the stairs and there he was, the master of the Mighty Boosh and his beloved Bollo friend Dave. To be honest it was like chatting to a randomer who was just happening to be selling a book and I purchased it to get it signed. Strange I know but hey what's life without risk.

BUT...

The weekend had not even started! Darren Hayes was still to come and boy was I excited!!
Well I had never seen so many gay guys in one room, it was very nice to be in a room where people loved Darren Hayes as much as Josie and I did. Though there was no chance to finding a man as most of them were playing for the other team (if you get what I mean). The time was here, Hayes was on stage singing all the songs I was brought up on! Ahh we have never screamed so much in our life. I was in love and what made our night...He stole our dance moves!! Yes, you heard me thee Darren Hayes stole our dance moves. Singing Truly Madly Deeply he looked at us and saw us doing our rather impressive actions it and decided to copy us. Well didn't I just die and go to heaven. Don't believe me: Here is the proof

Look at 1.55 and watch the magic happen baby!!!! :D

Ahh that was the best weekend of my life! No exaggeration, I didn't want it to end, Darren Hayes had taken over my mind with this drug we call music! Ugh he is just....wow....no word is big enough to describe how it felt to be in the same room as him and hear that voice he was given!

Life is good! :D

"I will always love you"

I decided to write about the hardest thing I think everyone goes through in their life...giving up on someone you care about knowing it's the best thing to do.

At first everything is fine, life is looking up and everything you possibly want is in your hands. Then BOOM! reality hits you right between the eyes and shows the real side to life. Things start to crack, you try and tell yourself everything will work but you know deep down things have gone too far to go back to where they started. In one flash your happy enjoying life and then hitting rock bottom.
Whitney Houston has helped me in some way to letting go of someone you know you care about but know they are not what you need in life to be happy. I thought having someone there was the key to being happy, having someone to be there and make you feel like you are on top of the world.

"We both know I'm not what you, you need" Damn Whitney you are right well technically Dolly was right first but hey you take the credit!

I know that I don't NEED that special someone in my life right now but it hurts so much to know that the person you thought you could trust and care about so much doesn't feel the same. I believe that everything happens for a reason and I stand by that but for some reason God is testing me to see whether I am truly ready to take that next step!

The Last First Day

Today I would like to say is a happy and exciting day but for some reason it has been what I would call a "crappy" day.

Back at school and officially 6th year...woo hoo! However it is my final year at High School and time has flown by. It felt like only yesterday was my first day at High School and now look were we are, the finale, the pimultimate, the most memorable school year and yet it has been a bit of a wet cloth to be completely honest.

I wake up this morning and wanting to feel good about the day like you should. Not for me. Early riser at 6.30 and find myself unable to breathe. Yes, I know what you're thinking, "What you talking about Willis?" But yes my two nostrils had failed me in terms of their purpose in life. With a splitting headache and a blocked nose my day is only beginning. The highlight of my morning...My wonderful darling of a friend Josie comes in for me and cheers me up with her smile :) The sun was shining (at last) and the day was looking brighter. Only to remember I was going to school and not up town going to Starbucks for my chocolate cream Frappucino; which I have to add are just yummy!

After a long tiring day at school, I feel like I should reflect on my last first day back and try and find some positives.
1) Getting to see all my friends again
2) Getting to wear my new school shoes ;)

That's all I can think of really for right now but hopefully more with come to me.

Well in the words of Bugs Bunny "That's all folks!" Have a wonderful evening and may love, peace and happiness rain upon you in life xx

Long Time No Blog

It has been almost a month since I was last on my blog, it's disgraceful I know but life has been putting me to the test and had to not a lot of time with the wonderful world of Blogger.

So what's been happening?
Well...Summer has arrived (I think it has anyway) and since everyone has been going on holiday I have been ditched in rainy Edinburgh. However, when we got the odd day of sunshine my fabulous best friend Josie invited a group of us to her house for a wee gathering before everyone went on holiday. The day included drink, a lovely lunch, putting up a tent (well me watching them put up a tent :P) and dancing to dusk. It was a wonderful day and was a great way to start the Summer holidays.

During my time off school, searching for a job has been a main priority but it has been what I would call...."A Diaster!" NO! worse than that. I apply for roughly 30-40 jobs a day and out of the jobs I apply for only 1 person replies on a good day. Employers moan that they want the perfect person for the position at their company and well you are not going to get that my friend. They want experience for a sales assistant...anyone can sell something it's not difficult and plus I have experience and yet no reply. Ugh! I will stop before I say something I shouldn't.

Anyhoo! What I can look forward to is Dublin with my fabby friend Katey and her marvellous parents. They are so good to me I feel part of the family :') We are spending a few days in Dublin and during our stay sightsee the beautiful city and soak up all the history. Also, going to see a Comedy show at the Vodafone Comedy Festival in which we will see Jason Byrne, Omid Djalili and this other guy I can't remember his name. When you go on holiday there are 3 CRITICAL!!! stages you have to go through before you go.

1. Find the right size of suitcase to fit Ryanair's policy (aka the size of a milk bottle).
2. Choose a perfect outfit for everyday reflecting your style, personality and on what the weather will be like.
And finally...
3. Renew your passport and EU insurance card.

All 3 are vitual but 1. and 3. are almost impossible. First of all a note to Ryanair...Stop being assholes and act like a normal airline. Enough said and secondly the price for a passport is ridiculous and thank goodness I don't need another one for 10 years! Over £100 for a new passport and the picture ain't that flattering I look like I'm going to kill someone. Oh the joy of preparing for a holiday. At least I will have a hunk of an Irishman to keep me company ;) Realistically that won't happen but hey a girl can dream. And finally to conclude my rant for this evening I leave you with a quote from the greatest space movie in the world Armageddon:

"Leaving on a jet plane, I don't when I'll be back again [as Ryanair will have to delay my flight by 12 hours and will have to swim home]"

Song of the Day #11

Oh my word...10 days since I was last on my blog, I do apologise for that such a hectic few weeks.

Today I have decided to choose the fabulous The Black Eyed Peas. For the last week, I have been addicted to dance beats and boogie like a complete idiot.

So here is The Black Eyed Peas and "Don't stop the Party" Turn the speakers up full blast and jump jump jump!!!

The Good, The Bad and The Unemployed!

It is literally impossible to get a job!

With so many people unemployed and so little jobs, it is a war that only one person can win. For every job there is roughly 500 people going for the same job. You can't win...people complain when they have no money but they don't want to work. They rely on other people to pay for their habit and feel like they can do nothing all day and get benefits. However, when honest people who have been working for 20 years and never missed a day in their life, they get near to nothing to live on. It is disgusting and people complain why they can't get employed they are too damn lazy to work for something. I'm applying for a douzen jobs everyday and never get a reply. It's like getting blood from a stone. Maybe, I should find an unique way to get money. Dance in Princes Street Gardens, play my trombone on George Street. Who knows what the future holds. Fingers crossed it includes a job.

Song of the Day #10

Well looky here, we have reached #10 and to celebrate this I have decided to choose this cheesy 90's classic pop song that was always on at the Primary disco and got everyone up and booging til 9! Haha

So, the lucky recipient is the wonderful and very cheesy Rednex with "Cotton eye Joe" Get the cowboy boots and hat out the attic, dust it off and turn it up full! Let's dance :)

Kids Out!

What a day!

It has been fabby, really enjoyed myself and it was lovely to spend time with the children and act like a kid myself. My duty for the day was to help out at the Balloon stand and oh my word I think I have found my new career. Haha. I found it really interesting and the things that the guy was making were incredible.

Before I knew it, it was lunch and got my face painted as a tiger and I looked more like a sun burnt tiger than a normal tiger but oh well. So, I had my face painted, balloon hat and ready to get back to work. After about an hour or so I managed to get the hang of it and started to make hundreds of weird looking dogs and swords. Obviously not advanced at it. Even the children were not taking my balloons but at least they were having fun. Throughout the day, Firemen and Army guys were walking round and have to say not too shabby, would put my life in their hands ;)

Near the end it was time for the disco and all of us from Royal High were straight on the dance floor and booging to all the cheesy 90's tunes. We were the only ones who knew the dances and the children had no idea what we were doing. Aww got to love the 90's, all my childhood memories flooding back. It was a great day out and the only down side was going home. Literally. Had to get the bus home and everyone was looking at me like I was a fool. Well, I did have my face painted as a tiger and had loads of balloons in my hands. Also, when I got off the bus, school was coming out and everyone saw me and laughed their heads off. Should of sprinted home but the balloons were flying everywhere.
Gotta love High School.

Busy Busy Busy

So many things are happening in life.

Just started sixth year and started the new courses. Already stressed as I am finding them oh well lets see impossible to catch onto but we will see how it goes. The saying for this year is "get involved!" and I think I may have taken that to the extreme.

Tomorrow I am going to the annual event "Kidz Out!" which helps disabled and vulnerable children. I am doing face painting and can't wait there will be a lot of tigers and cats tomorrow. It's a wonderful event and hey get a free t-shirt Haha
Then on Thursday and Friday there is the 6th year conference at Napier and we are assigned into groups and produce and show presentations. It's not the speaking I'm scared of it's me being left to do all the work and people taking credit for it. But hopefully it will not happen (Fingers Crossed)

The next few weeks are going to be hectic but hey I would rather be busy than sitting doing nothing all day. :) Always looking on the bright side

Song of the Day #9

Missed out the last few days with Song of the Day but it's back and ready to roll!

This little break has allowed me to catch up on the charts and decided which song I wanted to share. I decided to choose Chris Brown ft. Benny Benassi with "Beautiful People" I love this tune and is for some reason relaxes me.

Love this tune and I hope you do...Enjoy! :)

Walking on Sunshine

Oh what a glorious day it was in Edinburgh.

The sun was shining bright and it was roasting (it was 17 degrees, practially burning the pavements) Haha. Of course when it's sunny here in Scotland you take it by the horns and you don't let go. It is a rare occasion. So, myself and the girlies went for a lovely picnic in Princes Street Gardens and have a wonderful time. :) Show this couple that just got married and got their wedding pictures taken in the gardens. How lovely! Congrats to who ever they were. Haha. One special and rare moment was when managed to receive the Quote of the Day. Woo Hoo. It was after one of the girlies said "I have been treated like a dick" in which I reply "No, even a dick would have more respect!" A genius moment which is one in a blue moon for me.

However...The day was not over yet. No, then we met up with the guys and had a fabby time in Pizza Hut being very noisy and laughing our heads off. I swear I drank like 5 glasses of tap water. Uh I hate tap water, not to be snotty, but it tastes disgusting I could taste the cheapness (even though its tap water and its free anyway) :P

Will post pictures up in due course!

Britain's got Talent

Evening my friends

Just loving the new series of Britain's got Talent. Some people are just amazing. Tonight there were 3 Scots in one show...my word there is something you don't see everyday. Also, what is up with the dog acts this year, they are not as good but the best for me tonight have to be the Oxford group (Out of the Blue) Haha would love to have them for my brithday...And the Scots guy who sang Children's TV songs like the Teletubbies and the Wombles. Just fabby! Come on Ed you did the Teletubbies proud!

However, I did prefer last nights show. It had the Welsh guy Jay Worley who is like the Welsh Michael Buble therefore I love him. His version of Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" Cannot stop playing the song and I thought, well, since I haven't done Song of the Day yet, I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone. So for Song of the Day it will be Jay performing "Use Somebody" :) Love it!

Is today's world all about grades and exams?!

To get a job now you need to have a fancy degree and have travelled around the world trying to win the fight over poverty. Fair enough it is good to have qualifications and degrees in your pocket and had some work experience. But, today we are swamped with work and exams and have no time just to enjoy life. You only get one shot at life and we are too busy stuck in offices and schools kissing everyone elses butts.

I applied for a job (not going to mention which company) but the job I applied for was a simple part time job and descent pay...HOWEVER...you had to have perfect grades, work experience and everything else under the sun. I'm sorry but the job was not serving the Queen and trying to fight terrorism. It was a simple customer assistant job and they were expecting this straight A kiss ass person for the job. Obviously companies need some standards but employing perfect people is not always going to make the company successful. If I go into a shop, I don't want to be served by this posh, snotty person who thinks they are better than me because they have a degree. I want someone that is friendly and can answer any questions I may have. I know, I'm ranting on but it bugs me because they expect so much from people and every exam I go into I think, is this going to get me a job or will I end up working in Asda for the rest of my life? Hey even Asda are wanting people with degrees. What next? You can't walk into a shop without having your certficate from Edinburgh University saying "Butt Kisser 2011". I'm not wanting to turn into the posh kids I see uptown with their designer clothes with their Daddy's credit card in their snake skin purse. I'm keeping my dignity and hey if I don't get straight A's at least I can hold my head up high and say "hey I did my best!" Some of the most famous and smartest people in the world left school with no qualifications and achieved their dream.

...And breathe. That's my rant for today. Let's see what else can I complain about

Song of the Day #8

The ball is still rolling and there is a clue to who is today's artist for Song of the Day.

It is the fabulous Adele. This London gal is tough yet gentle, and has a voice of an angel. There are so many songs that I love from both her albums 19 and 21 but I decided to go for the one that always gets my foot tapping and unfortunately I know all the words and always sing it in the shower in the morning. Haha

Here is "Rolling in the Deep"

Song of the Day #7

Hello my fellow bloggers

Today, I was thinking about who I can choose to be the 7th person to receive "Song of the Day" I know...very difficult. And I decided to choose someone who has a song that reflects the emotion that I feel today and that emotion would be...Laziness! Yes you heard it Laziness. So, there can only be 1 person that has a song with the word Lazy in it and that is the fabby Bruno Mars.

Hope you enjoy the wonderful "The Lazy Song"

Edinburgh Sevens 2011

Today Katey and myself went to the Edinburgh Sevens and what an event. It was fabby! It was packed and we tried to find a seat and ended up next to 3 stag do's but we don't regret it at all. We meet so many nice people and had a great laugh.

There were a group of guys who came as 80's cops and brought an inflatable whale and got everyone and the players to sign it. I got to sign it! haha By the end of the day, the whale was getting a bit frisky I must say. They were doing "Head, shoulders knees and toes" and chanting all day long. Just brilliant. Also, there were a group of Austrailans, New Zealanders, South Africans and Germans infront of us. The two German guys we met were hiliarious. They were called Stefan and Richard and were so drunk and were trying to flirt, but it wasn't happening. during the day, Stefan kept falling asleep and everyone started drawing on his face and had no idea. Everytime loud music came on or cheering he would wake and scream! haha what a tool! Richard was the nicer drunk. Just chatting away, and then he passed me his phone and wanted my number. Ha he wishes! Also, saying that my eyes were beautiful and very green. Hehe I just had to giggle. Anyway, when it came to leaving he wasn't happy. He said "I won't let you leave unless you kiss or hug me. Well clearly I just hugged him and he said that it was lovely to meet us. Aww ain't he lovely. What a day! It was so fun and will definatly go again.

Oh for those who are interested in the rugby, Scotland got into the final for the plate but lost to Kenya. Oh well and Austraila won the cup.

Anyways have a lovely evening and see ya soon

Song of the Day #5

Evening

Today I decided to choose an up beat tune that everyone loves to get up and boogie to. I heard it when I was at the Edinburgh Sevens and it got everyone up and dancing. Can you guess who it is...It is the one and only Little Richard with Tutti Frutti. Put on your dancing shoes and twist those hips.

Let's get physical

After my 5km run, I decided to keep up the exercise and get ready for summer babeey!!

Well it didn't start very well, was wanting to do a 2km run but my hip was gone and had to walk (not very fun) However, I love watching all the guys lifting weights and clearly trying to compete against each other and lifting weights that are way too heavy for them. Haha giving the "Look at me! I can lift this and you can't!" Ahh the smell of sweat and competition in the morning does a girl good.

Then decided to some weights myself. Of course anyone that knows me know I have no upper body strength at ALL! So, this was very much a challenge and looked like a fool trying to lift 10's aww the trauma. To cool down I had to go for a dip in the pool. There was this elderly woman swimming next to me and was giving me the biggest evils. Ehh hen if you are swimming in a 'family session pool' you are not going to be the only one in the pool. Well after that workout definatly feeling good and now home and about to have a prawn stir fry...eh not sure I will be eating that much! Annyyhooo I'm off. Have a nice evening my dearies

Song of the Day #4

Afternoon my fellow bloggers

We are here again, celebrating another talented artist. So far, I have only chosen male artists so I think we have to balance it with some girl power. Let's see who can it be....Oh lets choose the incredible and wild Lady Gaga.

Gaga hit the music scene in 2008 and since then she has taken over the world and there is not one song I don't like. Her catchy choruses and dramatic dress sense, Gaga is definatly an influenctial woman and encourages people to be themselves and accept everyone for who they are. Right on Gaga!

Here is the incredible "The Edge of Glory" Enjoy!

80's Fever!

When you think of the 80's you think of the permed hair, big belts, wedges and of course the music. I may of not been born in the 1980's but I am obsessed with the music. That was the time when Whitney and Spandau Ballet were at their peak.

Here are some of my favourite 80's tunes.
The Four tops - Loco in Acapulco
Fleetwood Mac - Go your own way
Jermaine Stewart - We don't have to take our clothes off
Guns 'n' Roses - Sweet child of mine
Jackson 5 - Can you feel it
Katrina and the Waves - Walking on sunshine
Lionel Richie - All night long
Culture Club - Karma Chameleon

Ahh, I really fancy having an 80's party now :)

Song of the Day #3

Morning y'all :)

^ There is a little clue to who is today's song of the day artist.
When I say the name Phil Vassar most people have no idea who I am talking about. He is a country star and what is fabby about his music is all his songs are stories and the lyrics and tunes are just so catchy and just make you boogie while cleaning. In fact, his music is the music I clean to. Haha

So, what song shall I share with you guys. This song is called "Carlene" which is about him meeting up with a girl he went to High School with and end up meeting each other years later. Great tune! :)

Girlie Night :)

Every night should be Girlie night. Nothing beats going out for a lovely meal with the girls and just chat about anything and how annoying boys are.

Tonight for dinner was Brushetta (that spelt right?) then this pizza with a hole in it! Not even lying...A pizza...with a...hole in it! Who would expect a pizza with a HOLE IN IT! Also, it was one of the healthy pizza. The only reason it's healthy is because it has half of it missing. However, it was very yummy. And must say the waiter was yummy as well ;) He was lovely to us and there was definatly some flirting going on. Haha

Could get used to this going out for dinner and partying the night away thing! :)

I love my Family and Friends

What is life without family and friends? They make you laugh, be there for you when you need a shoulder to cry on, help you through the bad times and know you like the back of your hand. Well, that's exactly what my family and friends do and I love them to bits for that.

I know that when I need someone, I know exactly who to go to. Here are some of the people that a adore and will be in my heart forever.

My parents

Well what can I see about these two gems. Firstly, I would like to thank them for bringing me into this world and for taking care of me and putting up with me for 17 years. They are always there for me and I can talk to them about anything. Every saturday night is like a night at a comedy show. Mama is sitting with a drink (nothing unusual) and moaning at papa for spilling a drink which he claims he didn't spill. Papa making the good old cheese and picks (pickles). Sitting down and watching what is supposed to be Saturday night TV. For sure they are the best parents in the world and I love them very much. Love ya mama and papa :) xxxx

Stephanie and Neill

Stephanie is my sister and Neill is her fiance. My sis and I haven't always been the best of friends, really just putting up with each other. But in the last 5 years we have got much closer. When I am upset or got a problem, I know I can call her or come over for a brew and talk. She is one of my best friends and sadly knows me too well and knows how crazy I am but deep down she is wild at heart. Now, what can I say about Hammy. Well he has been with my sister for 5 years and at first, if I'm totally honest, wasn't sure about him but now he is growing on me :P He is like the brother I always wanted. He is immature just like me and just acts like a fool. He is truly part of the family and will always be Hammy and the one everyone loves (including me) :)

Song of the Day!

Whad up!

Decided to do 'Song of the Day' to celebrate and embrace the world's most talented musicians.

So...Who is the lucky artist that will be the very first 'Song of the Day' recipient...The one and only Michael Buble

This man is AMAZING and makes women weak at the knees (especially me). His contribution to the music world and charity, make Buble a true icon and is just damn right gorgeous. He clearly deserves the recognition and lets leave on a high note with one of my favourite Buble songs. "Hollywood" :)

Love live The Buble :)

"Matchmaker, Matchmaker find me a match"

In life, there is one main rule...Live life to the max!

However, lately it feels like something is missing in life. I have been thinking that maybe it is not being in a relationship. I know you don't have to be in a relationship but...Lately, most of my friends are meeting someone special and being in happy relationships. Me however, feeling like the third wheel. When out with friends they are with their boyfriends/girlfriends and then just me tagging along. Life is not about tagging behind everyone else, it's about living your own life and enjoying the time you have on this planet.

It's not like I have not tried, there have been moments when I thought something may happened but then someone else comes along and snatches them away from me. It makes me feel like I'm not worth anything and guys only see me as a friend and not someone they see being in a relationship. Ahh, I have never worried about this before and always liked being the single one, but now it feels lonely being single.

EMF 5km Run

Morning,
On Saturday I completed my first ever race. Managed to finish it in 43 mins 56 secs.
The charity I supported was Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of my Grandad :') The work that they do is amazing and deserve all the help and support they need.
So far I am at roughly £77 but hopefully in the next few weeks will get a few more sponsors. Must say though, my uncle Frank has raised £700 for St. Columbus Hospice which was where my grandad was when he was ill. Well done Frank, so proud of you, made grandad proud. :)

Saturday was very emotional. I could feel his spirit with me and definatly helped me get through it. One point I broke into tears, just overwhelmed with the support and how the money raised would help so many people. For definatly be keeping up the running and continue to do races to help as many charities as I can. One step at a time.
